In the scriptures, the word "remember" is mentioned several times. This year the theme of the trek is "Be Thou An Example through Faith in Jesus Christ". The pioneers were our example of faith in Jesus Christ. Whose example will we be?
Helaman 5:12
"12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."
What rock are you built on? Will you have faith in Jesus Christ and make the "walk" and weather the mighty winds, storms and whirlwinds?

I'm excited for
you and the trek! That is going to be so awesome. I can't believe it's
that time again. At zone conference on tuesday President was talking about one
of the hills their group had climbed on the trek and I remembered exactly which
one he was talking about because that was the one that we pulled Tim Smith up. I
remember pulling with all my might and strength, thinking that there was no way
we would make it up but praying anyways. I remember the feeling of getting to
the top of the hill and knowing that no matter what I am asked to do in this
life, I can do it with the Lord's help.
